Ibsen in New York

I've been reading Ibsen (as playwrights are wont to do) and I happened to come across some e-mails announcing that the Museum of the City of New York had recently digitized and made available some 15,000 images of theatrical productions. So what did I search for? Ibsen, of course.

Here's a photo of Minnie Maddern Fiske's production of A Doll House presented at the Manhattan Theatre. The production featured Fiske as Nora and Claus Bogel as Dr. Rank.

And here's a photo of a 1903 production of Ghosts starring Mary Shaw as Mrs. Alving. Frederick Lewis played Oswald.

Here is Minnie Fiske again, this time as the title role in Hedda Gabler. The play was performed at the Manhattan Theatre in 1904.
