On this eve of a feast of Thanksgiving, I should give thanks to the Abingdon Theatre Company.
In case you missed it, the Abingdon recently named my play Betty Thorpe a finalist for the Christopher Brian Wolk Award. You can read an article about it on BroadwayWorld.com.
Unfortunately for me, Betty Thorpe didn't actually win. That honor went to the play Restore by Jordan Ramirez Puckett. Still, it's an honor to be considered, and I'm also thankful to all of the programs that helped to develop Betty Thorpe, including the Ashland New Play Festival, The Little Theatre at Felician College, and Bristol Riverside Theatre.
Someday, I hope to see Betty Thorpe fully produced, but until then, it's best to be thankful for small victories.
