Happy Labor Day to everyone!
And as it so happens, later this month the 21st Ward Theater Company in Philadelphia will be producing my play The Rainbow--about two people having a picnic on Labor Day!
The venue for the production? Gorgas Park. And admission is free. The performance will also include the short plays Subtraction by Kevin McFillen and Hidden in the Picture by Aaron Sorkin.
In the original production of The Rainbow, the two people in the play were a man and a woman, but director Nicole Miller Marks (with my permission, of course) has decided to cast two women in the roles. This necessitated a name change and tweaking a few lines, but I'm interested in seeing how it works and if the dynamics change at all.
The performances will be on Saturday, September 17th at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. The actors will be Kristen Danley and Cassandra Alexander.
I'll be at the Saturday performance. If you have any interest in attending, check out 21st Ward Theater Company's Facebook page here:
